In practice, HCFeSi68 delivers stronger deoxidation and greater exothermic heat release due to its higher silicon content, making it ideal for converter steelmaking processes that demand intense deoxidation and higher carbon addition. In contrast, HCFeSi65, with its lower carbon ceiling, is better suited for steel grades requiring precise carbon control to prevent over-carburization. Both grades maintain similar low limits for phosphorus and sulfur impurities.
